This Thursday, the 29th, the secretary of Culture, Economy and Creative Industry of the State of São Paulo Marília Marton announced an investment of R$ 18 million for investments in the state’s games industry, via Law Paulo Gustavo.

“With this historic investment for the games industry in São Paulo, it positions the State of São Paulo as an important hub for development in the world”, comments Marília Marton.

The announcement took place at the BIG Festival (Best International Games Festival), the most important electronic games festival in Latin America. In addition to exposing the most innovative games from around the world to the public, the event is also the main meeting point for those who want to understand the universe of games in depth. In 2022, in addition to receiving around 30,000 visitors and bringing together more than 1,300 professionals and 669 companies, the event generated more than US$ 100 million in new business prospects during the 6,000 business meetings scheduled during the days of the festival.

In addition to exposing the most innovative games from around the world to the public, the event is also the main meeting point for those who want to understand the universe of games, with lectures, workshops, keynotes and the largest gaming business forum in Latin America.

The State of São Paulo should receive approximately R$ 355 million of the R$ 3.8 billion of the financial surplus from the National Culture Fund to States, Municipalities and the Federal District to promote cultural activities and products through the Law.
