The iPhone 14 lineup is almost here, with an expected launch in September, and as such, many rumors about the colors of Apple’s next phones have emerged.

Although nothing is certain yet, we now have an idea of ​​all the shades in which we could see the iPhone 14 arrive, as well as the iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Below, we take a look at all the iPhone 14 color rumors we’ve heard so far, including the likelihood of certain colors actually arriving in the coming weeks. We’re also exploring which colors are likely to drop this year as well.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max colors

Below are the colors we’ve heard the iPhone 14 might be available in at launch. It’s worth noting that in most cases the iPhone 14 Max hasn’t been mentioned, but based on past form we’d expect this larger model to land in the same shade selection. than the standard iPhone 14, much like the iPhone. 13 mini is currently available in the same colors as the iPhone 13.

Purple might be a new tint for the iPhone 14 this year, as the iPhone 13 is not available in a purple tint at all. Being a new shade, it’s a color we’re less sure of than some, but it’s been leaked at least twice.

First, a post on Weibo – a Chinese social network – from a user calling himself “Oivo sauce ovo” claimed that we would see a purple hue that could change tone depending on the lighting.

The post has since been deleted, but not before being spotted by AppleTrack (opens in a new tab). However, this source doesn’t have much of a history of leaks; so take the promise of a color-changing iPhone with a pinch of salt.

More recently though, @Jioriku (opens in a new tab) also claimed on Twitter that there would be a purple tint, though they didn’t mention if it would change the tone or not.

We’re hoping a purple tint is in the works, though, as we’re big fans of colored phones and the purple iPhone 12, along with the new Bora Purple finish available on the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 are all stunning. .

Vert

Green is another supposed shade and this is another that we are not at all sure about because if the iPhone 13 is available in green, so far we have only seen one source mention the iPhone 14 in this same color.

That source is @Jioriku mentioned above – another source that doesn’t have a lot of track record. So we’re not counting on seeing a green iPhone 14, but we’re not counting on it either, and as with purple, it’s a hue we’d really like to see.

Black

Although the closest current color to the iPhone 13 is called Midnight (which is actually a very dark blue), black is a color we expect to see offered on the iPhone 14, as it is one of the colors of smartphone the most popular.

At least two sources – both mentioned above – have suggested a black tint is planned and while it’s not a color we’re terribly thrilled about, it’s a safe, understated choice that looks smart and which will please many.

Blanc

As with black, white — or its closest neighbor, Starlight, as it will likely be officially called — is a color that Apple offers in its current lineup, and will likely continue to offer with the iPhone 14, as it is a smartphone so popular color choice in general.

This too has been leaked by the two aforementioned sources, so it is very likely.

Bleu

The same two sources also mentioned a blue tint, and that’s another tint you’ll find available on the iPhone 13 as well – although the iPhone 14’s blue is apparently more sky blue than the dark, deep tint found. on the iPhone 13.

We’d say this color is less likely than black or white because it’s less of a standard hue, but given that it’s available on current iPhones and has been rumored by multiple sources, it chances are we’ll see her.

We’re just curious where such a color would land, as the latest generations of iPhones have all experimented with different shades of blue on models.

Rouge

Apple loves red almost as much as it loves black and white, so a red iPhone 14 has always been very likely and it’s especially plausible here as it’s been mentioned by the two sources above.

Expect it to be a light shade, officially called PRODUCT (RED), with sales of this color helping to fight global health emergencies, such as AIDS and COVID-19.

iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max colors

Below are the rumored colors of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, some of which might be the same as those offered on the standard iPhone 14, but many of which will likely be different.

At least three sources have suggested we’ll see the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max in some shade of gold, but while the first of them – leaker Jon Prosser – pointed to rose gold , the other two – those mentioned above – simply describe it as “gold”.

At this time, we don’t know which is more accurate, but we believe that only gold is the most likely, since the iPhone 13 Pro is already available in gold, and the sources saying gold are the most recent.

We think one or the other is very likely though, as Apple has a form with both of these shades and multiple sources raise the possibility that such a finish is actually mid-range.

If it’s just gold rather than rose gold, expect it to be a pretty muted, almost muted hue, passing through the past form.

Violet

We’ve heard of purple as a new hue for every iPhone 14 model, including the Pros; although we think it would probably be darker or paler on the Pro models, as Apple tends to keep these phones smart and understated.

Both @Jioriku and the Weibo source mentioned above pointed to purple, as did leaker Jon Prosser, who even went so far as to share unofficial renders of what it might look like in a Front Page Tech video (opens in a new tab). You can see one above, showing a distinctly pale purple, less saturated than the purple of 2021’s iPhone 12/12 Mini.

The same source that mentioned a green iPhone 14 also said we’ll also get a green iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, so that’s another color possibility. If all of these phones get it, we’d think the Pro models won’t have as bright a green as the standard and Max versions, but that’s just speculation for now.

Currently only one source has mentioned this hue, so we’re not at all confident in its appearance, although Alpine Green is an option for the iPhone 13 Pro range, so we could see a variation on this existing theme for 2022.

Graphite

Graphite has been verified by @Jioriku and ‘Oivo sauce ovo’, plus it’s also a color you can get the iPhone 13 Pro range in, so we think that one is very likely.

It’s essentially the Pro line’s alternative to black, offering a smart dark color, but downright boring.

Argent

Silver is another color you can get the iPhone 13 Pro in and it’s another one that’s been mentioned by the same two sources as most of those other shades, so chances are it’s offered on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, as well.

It’s a pretty pale silver on the current models and the closest thing to white – sorry, Starlight – you can get on the iPhone 13 Pro, so expect the same this year.

The colors above, while not guaranteed, reflect the correct number of shades on each phone, as there are six rumored for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, and five for the Pro models, which corresponds to the iPhone 13 range.

All that to say, this just might be the full and final color selection we see. So what shades won’t make the cut?

Well, if these leaks hold water, we probably won’t see any pink on the iPhone 14, as it’s apparently been replaced by a new purple hue. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, meanwhile, might not have the Sierra Blue hue that you can get the iPhone 13 Pro in, which can also be replaced with purple.

So the only totally new color this year could be purple, if these leaks prove to be accurate, but don’t be surprised if some of the other colors come in different shades from their predecessors, which you can see above or in our iPhone 13 color guide.
