Mortal Kombat 12

The long-awaited Mortal Kombat 12 had its first teaser released by NetherRealm Studios and he’s a bit…different from what audiences might expect. Instead of being an isolated video, it was released along with a video celebrating the 30th anniversary of the franchise and also appears as a mysterious excerpt that can mean more than meets the eye.

In it we see grains of sand falling from an hourglass and, suddenly, one of them explodes and scatters. That simple. However, if the fan can remember, the villain Kronika used an hourglass to control time – which had its fate in the hands of another character within the end of its Story Mode. Will we have other problems with time travel and reboots? Well, it remains to watch and draw your own conclusions:

And when does Mortal Kombat 12 arrive?

Although we clearly know that Mortal Kombat 12 is the next project from NetherRealm Studios, nothing about the project has been officially revealed. Warner Bros. Games has already stated that the title will arrive in 2023, but all we see in the video is Ed Boon quoting the phrase “…and we still can’t get enough” about the fighting game series, indicating that there will be more to come. More information is to be released in the future.
