NetIX, the global Internet exchange platform from the Netera Group, has announced a partnership with Greek telecommunications company Lan Communications (Lancom). The goal is to expand NetIX’s activities in Greece, as a result of which users will be able to use diverse and high-speed services for global connectivity.

Lancom will actively invest in the joint project, manage it operationally, promote and sell NetIX services to its potential and existing customers in Greece.

NetIX continues to expand its Internet exchange and peering services, as well as to partner with all Internet hubs (Internet Exchanges) in Greece, the company emphasized. This improves the connectivity and performance of local networks while providing better access to local content from anywhere in the world.

“We are sure that this cooperation will be beneficial for the market in Greece”, commented Neven Dilkov, founder and manager of NetIX.

A partnership is very important for both Greece and Lancom, said George Nollis, CEO of Lancom. “We will provide direct access to the NetIX network to all our potential and existing customers in the country and abroad. Imagine connecting directly to over 200 locations worldwide, including more than 30 internet exchanges, including our local GR-IX,” he said.

Customers in Greece will get connectivity to major cloud service providers such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, as well as Over-The-Top (OTT) content providers such as Facebook, Instagram and Apple.

NetIX will immediately become available nationwide using all data centers, including Balkan Gate Thessaloniki and the future Balkan Gate Crete. The points of presence (PoPs) that Lancom maintains in all major data centers in Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as its own Fiber-to-the-Business (FttB) network, will also be used.
