Ryo Nagamatsu, composer of Super Mario Galaxy 2 and other great titles, leaves Nintendo

We bring somewhat bittersweet news for Nintendo fans. Apparently one of their biggest Super Mario composers has made the decision to leave the company.

Is about Ryo Nagamatsu, whom you may know from compositions in titles such as New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Galaxy 2, Wii Sports Resort, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds or more recently Splatoon, Mario Kart 8 or the remake of Link’s Awakening. retires from the company to start working on your own.

This is the message he posted:

I have made the decision to leave the company on April 30, 2023. I will work a little broader and more directly to help those who need my help and to help the industry. Thank you all for your kind support! I look forward to serving you in the future! (A friendly agreement)

We will be attentive to see where his trajectory continues. In the meantime, we wish him all the luck in the world.
