The administrators of Twitter will removeat the accounts of users who have not logged into a pageyours for several years. This was announced by the owner of the social network, Elon Muskquoted by Reuters.

Active account owners on the social network may see their subscriber numbers drop, Musk added. “We delete accounts that have not shown any activity for several years, so you may see a decrease in the number of your followers,” he wrote on his social network page.

According to the user agreement, a Twitter user must log into their account at least once every 30 days to avoid deletion due to prolonged inactivity.

Musk previously threatened to transfer the account of the non-governmental National Public Radio to another company after it refused to publish content on its 52 official media feeds in protest of Twitter’s decision to label his account as government-owned.

Last month, Twitter removed the blue check from verifying the accounts of thousands of users, including celebrities, journalists and politicians.

Musk made the verification process part of Twitter Blue, a paid subscription service. According to him, this will reduce the number of bots and fake accounts on the social network.
