Vampire Survivors: beloved indie game will get animation

Vampire Survivors, the beloved indie game, is getting an animation. The game is available to play on mobile, PC and even Xbox, and it is unanimous: everyone enjoys this game.

The Deadline website reported that Poncle is working with Story Kitchen to adapt the game into an animated television series. Here’s the official description of the game courtesy of Steam:

Take down thousands of night creatures and survive until dawn! Vampire Survivors is a gothic horror casual game with rogue-lite elements, where your choices can allow you to quickly snowball against the hundreds of monsters that are thrown at you.

This game doesn’t have such a detailed and deep story, but it brings many interesting characters and monsters. It will be interesting to see how various characters are characterized. In the game, you control one of several different characters, and they automatically attack waves of enemies with a wide variety of weapons like whips, daggers, garlic, and more. Luca Galantefounder of poncle, shared his excitement about the project:

“The most important thing about Vampire Survivors is the story, so it’s a dream come true to see what started as a little indie game I made on my weekends come to life as an animated TV show! It’s also great to partner with such experienced and talented people to make the show. I wonder if they realized there isn’t a single vampire on Vampire Survivors, though.”

Dmitri M. Johnsonfrom Story Kitchen, added:

“When our chief creative officer, Dan Jevons, flagged Vampire Survivors for us last year upon its initial release, we were prepared to write it off as just another vampire game. Hundreds of hours played later, we were all hooked, and we just couldn’t get enough! Needless to say, we are truly honored to partner with this incredible team and continue the Vampire Survivors story!”

Finally, Dan Jevons from Story Kitchen said:

“While we are responsible for countless hours of lost productivity in Story Kitchen, we are thrilled and honored to partner with Poncle to bring the bombastic gothic world of Vampire Survivors to life in linear media.”

Based on the report, a screenwriter is still being sought and the project will be put up for sale to different animated TV network buyers.

Where will it be released? There would be room for Adult Swin. Or maybe Netflix.
