Xbox Series has sold 21 million units

xbox series

Microsoft revealed during the BIG Festival that its new generation consoles – Xbox Series X and S – already have combined sales of 21 million units across the planet. This is a number 3 million times greater than what they estimated at the beginning of 2023, demonstrating that the progress of the video game is going well and that it intends to improve even more with the next major releases.

They also revealed that the total sales of the Xbox One version and the new Series add up to 79 million – which means that the previous video game reached the milestone of 58 million units sold in its entire lifetime. It was released in 2013 and discontinued once the newer video game hit the shelves, with distinct versions like the Xbox One S, Xbox One X and also a digital-only version.

The success of the Xbox Series is yet to come

It is worth noting that Microsoft’s new console still has a lot of wood to burn, with titles arriving to further boost these sales. Starfield will be released in early September, outside the planning to bring a new chapter to the Forza Motorsport and Fable franchises, in addition to the unprecedented Avowed. And they’re also starting to take the multimedia route, with the licensing of the Halo series to Paramount+ and a production based on Gears of War under the wings of Netflix as well.
